DEIS's programmes are directed towards such
productive groups who have fallen out
of the formal HRD system and not found place in the
organised sector.
DEIS activities are especially targeted towards women by
trying to place an alternative economic
activity before them.
DEIS believes that one should not condemn a substantial
percentage of the new generation
as failures -- as is happening in the formal education
system-- but should build on their aspirations, motivations,
talents and resources, so that instead
of clamouring for organised sector
jobs they can have alternative economic empowerment within
their environment itself.
DEIS programmes are also targetted towards school going
children. These children are being imparted
enterprise education so that this will
increase option for them on leaving school to start viable
economic income generating activities.
